Coastal area is the most vulnerable area due to climate change where people are struggling to survive lest to think about sexual and reproductive health and right. Women of this area are experienced from various types of gender based violence. To change the circumstances, LEDARS has taken initiatives to aware the people about sexual and reproductive health and rights through youth led social movement. As youth of this area will be the future advocate in SRHR right establishment, their skill development is very essential and considering this LEDARS has arranged a capacity building training for youth and adolescent of this area.
LEDARS has arranged the training on sexual and reproductive health and rights with youth of Shaymnagar and Kaliganj Upazilla under Satkhira district under the project entitled ‘Pathway to SRHR Revolution: Open Air Exhibition for Safe Sexual and Reproductive Health’. To ensure health protection in COVID-19 situation the training was held in two batches with 20 participants in each at Shyamnagar and Kaliganj. The training program of two Upazilla has been inaugurated by respective Upazilla Chairman. Mr. Ataul Haque Dolon, Upazila Chairman of Shyamnagar and Mr. Sayed Mehedi, Upazila Chairman of Khaligonj Upazila. Mr. Delowar Hossain, Officer in Charge, Sheikh Anowar Hossain, Ms. Khaleda Ayub Dolly, Vice Chairman of Shyamnagar Upazila Parishad, Vice-president, Kalliganj Press-club, Mr. Mohon Kumar Mondal, Executive Director, LEDARS were special guest of the training. All the invited guest highly appreciates this initiative.
