LEDARS and Parliament News jointly organized a national level dialogue virtually on August 26, 2021 under the project of Pathway to SRHR Revolution: Open Air Exhibition for Safe Sexual and Reproductive Health financed by ARROW-Asian Resource and Research Centre for Women.
Members of parliament Mir Mostaq Ahmed Robi and Syeda Rubina Akter, former director general of Family Planning Department Akhm Kazi Mohiul Islam, Professor Syed Mahfuz Ali of National Curriculum and Textbook Board, and deputy director of Bangladesh Nari Pragati Sangha Shahnaz Sumi, among others, attended the event. Meher Afroz Chumki called upon teachers and parents to be responsible for reproductive health and said that proper education was needed to get rid of social prejudices in this regard.
The experts made the remarks while participating in a national dialogue. They highlight on importance of Education, strongly recommend to continue curriculum in high school and college level, proper care from families, etc. Journalist Nikhil Chandra Bhadra facilitation the discussion where Meher Afroz Chumki, chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, was present as chief guest. The key note of the event was presented by Mohon Kumar Mondal, Executive Director, LEDARS. Besides this LGI, Leader of youth team, media, member of advocacy group participated to this online national dialogue.
