The Union Climate Resilience Forum of South Koyra organized Climate Innovation Fair at 22 March 2022, at Gharilal Bazar, Dakshin Bedkashi union of Koyra Upazila, Khulna district. Mr. Animesh Biswas, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) & Mr. Krishibid Md. Khairul Alam, Upazila Agriculture Officer of Koyra Upazila was present as the chief guest and special guest respectively. The Fair concluding ceremony was presided over by the Mr. Aser Ali Moral, Chairman of Dakshin Bedkashi Union accordingly.
This innovative agricultural fair was organized for the purpose of sustainable agricultural management and expansion of agricultural technology in the coastal areas. The fair showcases various agricultural technologies using maximum of local resources. The fair demonstration suitable cultivation technology like, Rain and Ground water Waste Management, Earth Tower and vertical tower gardening, integrated paddy-fish and vegetable cultivation, Sorjan method, zero tillage cultivation, organic fertilizer and pesticide management, gardening in different unused pots, kitchen garden, drip irrigation, rat control methods. People from different villages visited different stalls/demonstration and learnt. Mr. Mohon Kumar Mandal, Executive Director of LEDARS, Mr. Shahjahan Siraj, Treasurer of Koyra Press Club, GM. Didarul Alam, General Secretary of Upazila Climate Advocacy Forum, Mr. Zahid Hasan Scientific Assistant and Forum Member and Ms. Nilima Chakraborty Upazila Advocacy Forum Member delivered their speech.
