LEDARS distributed saline tolerant vegetable seeds among farmers in coastal area through providing subsidy money. Seed distributing ceremony was, held on March 09, 2022, inaugurated by Asim Kumar Mridha, Chairman Munsiganj union Parishad.

The effects of climate change are increasing day by day. For this, salinity, erratic rainfall, shortage of fresh water increases in coastal areas. In order to make the agricultural system sustainable by overcoming various crises including shortage of irrigation water, salinity LEDARS (A non-government organization) made a plan to distribute vegetables seeds among the costal farmers. The distribution of seeds is auspiciously inaugurated among 1166 farmers in Shyamnagar, Asashuni in Satkhira district and Koyra upazila of Khulna district. LEDARS distributed cucumber, ladies finger, gourd, pumpkin, spinach, sponge gourd in each listed 1166 farmers. Mr. Mohon Kumar Mondal, Executive Director, LEDARS delivered opening speech and he described the objective of the meeting. Mr. Horidas Haldar, Ward number 01, Munisigonj Union, Mr. Debashish Gain UP Member, Ward number 03, Munshigonj Union and Ms. Nipa Chakroborti, reserve seat for women 01, (Ward number 1,2,3) delivered speech on this occasion.
