LEDARS facilitated to develop Union Disaster Risk Reduction Plan of 05 unions namely Gabura, Munshiganj, Iswaripur, Kashimari of Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira district and Dakkhin Detkashi of Koyra Upailza of Khulna district under the project of Strengthening Livelihood Security of Climate Change Vulnerable People (SLSCCVP) by the support of Bread for the World.
Union Disaster Risk Reduction Plan of Gabura Union of Shaymnagar Upazila developed on August 14, 2023 through a workshop organized at the Head Office of LEDARS. Respective Panel Chairman of this Union, Mr. S M Robiul Islam was present as Chief Guest while the Special Guests were Mr. Sheikh Amir Ali, President of Gabura Union Climate Resilient Forum, UP Member Ms. Farida Begum. A total of 30 participants including 13 representatives from UDMC and 17 from UCRF of Gabura union (12 women and 18 men) were participated. Union Disaster Risk Reduction Plan of Iswaripur Union of Shaymnagar Upazila also developed on August 16, 2023 through a workshop while Mr. G M Shokor Ali, Chairman of Iswaripur Union was present as Chief Guest and Special Guests were includes Md. Salam Mollah, President of Iswaripur UCRF, Ms. Forida Begum, UP Woman Member. 30 participants includes 13 representatives from UDMC and 17 from UCRF of this union (09 women and 21 men) were participated. Similarly, Disaster Risk Reduction Plan of Munshiganj Union under Shaymnagar Upazila also developed on August 27, 2023 through a workshop which was presided over by Teacher and President of Munshiganj UCRF Mr. Dhononjoy Kumar Mondal, while the Chief Guest was Mr. Ziaur Rahman, Panel Chairman of Munshiganj Union. Special guests were respective UP Members includes Ms. Nipa Chakrabarty, Mr. Horidas Halder, Debasish Gayen, Team Leader of CPP Team Mr. Jagodis Mondal. 30 participants including 11 representatives from UDMC and 19 from UCRF of this union (11 women and 19 men) were participated in this workshop.
On the other hand, Disaster Risk Reduction Plan of Dakkhin Betkashi Union of Koyra Upazila developed on August 28, 2023 by a workshop. The workshop was presided over by Mr. Acher Ali Morol, UP Chairman of Dakkhin Betkashi while the invited guest was Md. Gazi Shah Alom, President of UCRF. 30 participants including 10 female and 20 male participated. All those workshops were facilitated by Training Expert of LEDARS Mr. Ranjit Kumar Mondal and also by Md. Alim Al Razi, Program Manager, Nurul Mostofa Kamal, Project Coordinator, Koushik Roy, Knowledge and Research Manager, Moniruzzaman Moni, MEAL Officer and respective Field Facilitators and Community Mobilizers of LEDARS.
