Community Journalism for Sudarbans Conservation

LEDARS recently hosted a dynamic 2-day Skill Development Workshop on StoryWriting as part of the Securing Blue Carbon project! Held on June 25-26, 2024, theevent saw 20 enthusiastic participants from Munshigonj and Burigoalini Union ofShyamnagar upazila of Satkhira district. The workshop kicked off with an inspiring speech from LEDARS Executive Director, Mr.Mohon Kumar Mondal. Expertly facilitated by journalist and teacher, Mr. Ranjit KumarBormon, the sessions were both engaging and informative.The closing ceremony was graced by Mr. Pathik Kumar Mondal, Field Inspector of theSocial Service Office of Shyamnagar Upazila, and Union Social Worker, Mr. SuronjjanShekhor Mondal. In his closing remarks, Mr. Mohon Kumar Mondal emphasized theongoing impact of the workshop, stating, “This workshop does not end here, it has apurpose. Through your writing, the life stories of the people in this coastal area willemerge.”Participants received certificates, marking the successful completion of the workshop.Here’s to many more stories that will shine a light on the vibrant lives in our coastalcommunities!
