South west coastal region of Bangladesh is very much vulnerable to climate change. It becomes more vulnerable due to the drastic deterioration of food security and livelihood of the people of this region. To reduce this vulnerability, LEDARS implements “Strengthening Livelihood Security of Climate Change Vulnerable People” with the support of ‘Bread for World’. As a part of the implementation of the project, LEDARS organizes a three days camp in Munshigonj Degree College ground at Shyamnagar, Satkhira in 21-23 October 2014. The program has inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Satkhira district Mr. Nazmul Ahsan, special guests are Upazilla Nirbahi Officer Mr. Abu Sayed Md. Monzur Alom, Vice-chairman of Shyamnagar Mr. Mohsin-Ul-Mulk and Nurjahan Parvin, Nirbahi Magistrate Mrs. Afsana Sultana, Upazilla Agriculture Officer Mithu Chandra Mondal, Upazilla Project Implementation Officer Jalal Uddin, Executive Director of LEDARS Mr. Mohon Kumar Mondal, Satkhira district representative of Desh Television Shohidullah Kaiser Sumon and the program is presided over by the chairman of LEDARS Mr. Bidhusroba Mondal. Moreover, representatives of NGO, Journalists, Civil Society Organizations, and Local Elected Bodies are also present in the inauguration ceremony. Deputy Commissioner says in his inauguration speech that Youths are the key to success of any nation. He added that youth has the power; the power of Youth to change the society. They need only the indication of right path to mitigate and control the environment degradation, he described. He greatly thanked LEDARS to come forward to raise awareness and take effective action. He wishes the every success of this special event ‘Youth Environment Camp’14’.
