A Farming Innovation Fair has been held in 21 March 2019 in South Bedkashi Union under Koyra Upazila in the lap of Sundarbans. The fair was demonstrated innovative, climate adaptive, agriculture technology for the Climate Change impact area of Coastal Bangladesh. Agriculture sector is worstly affected by Climate Change impact. Irregular rainfall, salinity intrusion, seasonal drought, etc. severely affected agriculture production. Farmers are trying to adopt with the situation. LEDRAS is implementing SLSCCVP project funded by BROT. Under SLSCCVP project LEDARS is providing support to farmers of South Bedkashi Union of Koyra upazila, so that they can adopted with climate change negative impact. To raise awareness of the community people, the Union Climate Resilient Committee (UCRC) organize the farming innovation fair. There were ten different types of adaptive, innovative, Resilient technology stall shows the technologies e.g. Organic Agriculture, IPM, Climate Resilient Home, Zero-tillage agro-farming, Adaptive & Innovative vegetable gardening, Irrigation & Irrigation management, Integrated farming, Pest & rat management, Local seed varieties conservation and Climate Change Information dissemination, etc. People came and visited different stalls in the fair to see the different technologies, they asked various questions about the technologies when they visited agro-technologies stall.
Md Nurul Haque President Union Climate Resilient Committee, Bulbul Tarofdar, Freedom Fighter; Shah Alam Gazi, Secretary Agricultural affairs Union Climate Resilient Committee, Gostho Bihari Sarkar, general member Union Climate Resilient Committee, Md. Billal Hossain, UP member, S. Bedkashi Union, Koyra, Khulna were guest of the fair. Besides this, Azizul Islam journalist Dainik Naoapara, Mokhtar-uzzaman Dhali president BRRI-55 Climate Resilient Committee, Sharifa Begum, member BRRI-50 Climate Resilient Committee, Nilutpal Mondal, teacher, Jorsing Primary School attended the meeting. Ranajit Kumar Mondal, Project Coordinator, Showkat Hossain, Advocacy Officer and others were present in that innovative agricultural fair.
