On Friday, May 20, 2022, a free gynecological and maternal health services were organized by LEDARS in cooperation with Bread for the World and Friendship Hospital at LEDARS head office, Munshiganj Union. Awami League Joint General Secretary Mr. Jahangir Alam inaugurated the camp at 10.30 am under the Chairmanship of Administrative Officer Mr. Asit Mandal. Munshiganj Union UP members Ms Nipa Chakraborty and Mr. Haridas Halder, Friendship Hospital Coordinator Mr. Md. Shaheen Islam, Sr. Paramedic Officer Ms Masuma Khatun, LEDARS Monitoring Officer Mr. Ranjit Kumar Mandal, Knowledge Management Manager Mr. Kaushik Roy and Assistant Medical Officer Mr. Subrata Roy, etc. also presented in the opening ceremony of the health camp.
In the welcome speech at the opening ceremony of the camp, Mr. Shaheen Islam said that this gynecology and maternal health care camp is of special importance. Here, those women with complex problems who cannot be treated in primary care and need to be operated will be identified and operated on free of cost by doctors coming from France with Friendship Hospital on May 23, 2022. He also mentioned that patients do not have to bear any expenses during their stay at Friendship Hospital except for the purchase of medicines.
