LEDARS organize the national-level dialogue on the issue to “Required emergency initiatives to construct the sustainable embankment” This dialogue has organized in the auditorium of Dhaka Reports Unity(DRU) at 14 July 2020 where honorable deputy minister A.K.M. Anamul Hqu Shamim, Ministry of Water Resource was present as a chief guest. The honorable minister said, Government has already allocated 8000 CRs of Taka to construct the strong and sustainable embankment in the south-west coastal area in Bangladesh. 4 projects have already been taken and the projects will implement by the next 2-3 years. Md. Aktruzzaman Babu, Honorable Parliamentarian Member (MP), Khulna Khulna-6 constituency, Mr. Nabi Nawas, X-Parliamentarian, Mr. Rafiqul Islam Azad, Chairman, DRU, Mr. Mihir Kumar Biswas, Joint-Secretary, Bangladesh Paribash Andolon BAPA, Mr. Asish Kuman Day, (General Secretary, National Committee, Boat and Rail Road Protection), Mr. Tarik Hossain (Janouddog), Mr. Nripan Badyo (Faith-in-Action), Mr. Sanjidul Hasan, (LEDARS), Mr. Abdullah Mouaj, (journalist) were present in the national level dialogue. The chief guest assured that not only sustainable embankment will be constructed, but the government will also take the initiatives to form a coastal area development board, a super drive-way from Coxbazar to Sundarban. He also added that “Sundarban conservation, river protection, solution of drinking water crisis based initiatives will be taken by the government immediately.
