Mohon Kumar Mondal, Founder and Executive Director of LEDARS (Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society). He is post postgraduate in Geography from the National University, Bangladesh, and completed a short course from BIARI, Brown University, Roads Island, USA on Disaster Management and Humanitarian response. He has been working in the development field from student life (since 1995). He is the founder and Executive Director of a nonprofit organization, LEDARS. He has taken part in national and international events in his professional life. He was awarded by the State Department of USA’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in 2012. He attended the 4th and 7th World Water Forums in Mexico in 2006 and Korea in 2015 and presented a success story of LEDARS for grassroots development in the water sector. He attended several UNFCCC’s Conference of Parties (COP-15 and 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29). LEDARS has been awarded the 3rd Prize World Water Showcase Award in 2015, the Channel I Standard Chartered Agro award, and the Zayed Sustainability Prize in 2023 under his leadership. He is a member of the US State Alumni Association in Bangladesh.

A.B.M. Zakaria, Program Manager at LEDARS, holds a postgraduate degree in English from Jagannath University and has over two decades of experience in integrated program management. His expertise spans program planning, MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) frameworks, stakeholder engagement, fundraising, and team building, with a particular focus on climate resilience and community development.

At LEDARS, he leads the implementation of innovative development projects aimed at empowering vulnerable communities in Bangladesh’s climate-affected coastal regions. His commitment to sustainable development and Human Rights drives his efforts to ensure impactful and qualitative program outcomes. He is instrumental in initiating new programs, developing fundraising strategies, and enhancing the organization’s visibility and reach.

With his rich experience and dedication, he is focused on addressing climate challenges and advancing LEDARS’ mission to support communities in building resilience and sustainable livelihoods.
