LEDARS distributed Disaster Rescue Equipment to the youth volunteer of the community on 27 March 2024 under the CREA and SLSCCVP projects supported by Bread for the World and Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF). This initiative spearheaded by LEDARS aimed at bolstering disaster management capabilities within our communities. In the esteemed presence of Chief Guest SM Ataul Huq Dolon, M.P. Satkhira- 04, Chairperson Nazibul Alam, UNO Shyamnagar Sathkira, Chairman of LEDARS Freedom Fighter Md. Nazrul Islam, and Executive Director Mohon Kumar Mondal, we have taken a significant step towards ensuring the safety and resilience of our community members.

This joint intervention, targeting five unions including Munshigunj, Ishwaripuri, Kashimari, Gabura, and Dakshin Bendkashi, of Shyamnagar and Koyra sub-district; has had a profound impact on over 3101 beneficiaries associated with the Union Climate Resilience Forum (UCRF), formed in 2012. Through the distribution of essential safety equipment under the SLSCCVP project wherein a total of 5 kits were distributed with each kit comprising 1 chainsaw, 1 hand microphone, 120 feet long thick ropes, 5 life jackets, 5 helmets, and 5 torchlights, we aim to empower community members to mitigate the impact of disasters such as cyclones effectively. Additionally, under the CREA project, two unions, Burigoalini and Gabura, have been equipped with safety kits containing 3 torchlights, 3 raincoats, 3 pairs of gumboots, 3 helmets, and hand microphones, benefiting a total of 1620 individuals.

This initiative marks a significant stride towards fostering community resilience and ensuring the safety of our fellow citizens in the face of natural disasters. By equipping individuals with the necessary tools and resources, we are enhancing their ability to respond to emergencies and fostering a sense of unity and preparedness within our communities. Together, we are building a stronger, safer, and more resilient future for all.
