LEDARS successfully organized a Learning Sharing Workshop of our one-year pilot project entitles Strengthening Transformative Action for Resilient (STAR) what has been implementing in Batighata upazila of Khulna District at the Batiaghata Upazila Meeting Room on June 25, 2025.

The aim of the project is to strengthen the resilience capacity of community people to combat the climate change shocks in the WASH sector. We have taken significant initiative to build capacity of community people to managing community water treatment technology, activated the inactive devises, introduce Bio sand Filter, establish Rainwater Harvesting System, digging drinking water post and establish modern Pond Sand Filters (PSF). We have engaged different types of stakeholders like the Government department, local union parishad (UP) social leaders, community people in different stages of the project implementation.

Major Achievements & Health Impact:
โ๏ธ Waterborne illness down from 60% to 35%
โ๏ธ 93% now have access to safe drinking water
โ๏ธ Handwashing awareness rose from 35% to 91%
โ๏ธ Sanitary toilet usage up by 65%
