To promote climate-smart and sustainable agriculture, LEDARS (Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society) organized a meeting on 𝟭𝟮 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗔𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺, 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗸𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗮, for the formation of an 𝗨𝗽𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗹 under the Climate Action at Local Level (CALL) project.

The event was inaugurated by the 𝗞𝗕𝗗 𝗠𝗱. 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺,𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗗𝗔𝗘), 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗸𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗮, and attended by the Additional Deputy Directors (Horticulture, Crops, and Plant Protection), 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗵𝘆𝗮𝗺𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗷 𝗨𝗽𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘀, the Scientific Officer of SRDI-Satkhira, representatives from District Agriculture Marketing (DAM), private sector organizations (including Lal Teer Seed and Ispahani Agro Ltd.), and project staff of LEDARS.

The meeting began with a presentation on the CALL project, highlighting its objectives, approach, and role in 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲-𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀. LEDARS emphasized the importance of forming a Resource Pool under the leadership of DAE to strengthen coordination and technical collaboration. Following active discussions, DAE officials agreed to establish the Upazila Level Resource Pool, which will serve as a multi-stakeholder platform connecting government, NGOs, and the private sector.

This Resource Pool will facilitate 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, helping them adopt 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀, 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 to cope with the impacts of climate change. It is mentionable that the 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹.

In his closing remarks, the Deputy Director of DAE commended LEDARS’ initiatives and 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗔𝗘’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 in the coastal region.
