𝗟𝗘𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗜𝗚𝗔) training 𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 for members of Women’s Self-Help Groups (WSHG) in Mongla, Bagerhat on 𝟮𝟯 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 under the 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴-𝘂𝗽 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗘) Project, with the support of Comic Relief. 𝟯𝟬 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗪𝗦𝗛𝗚 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 to learn 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁-an eco-friendly fertilizer that improves soil health while creating new income opportunities for rural women.

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀;
The training brought together experienced professionals who shared both technical knowledge and practical skills:
• 𝗦𝘂𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗹, 𝗦𝘂𝗯-𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿, 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮 Upazila Department of Agriculture, provided technical guidance on organic soil management.
• 𝗠𝗱. 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗶𝘂𝗹 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺, 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁, demonstrated practical techniques for compost preparation and management.
• 𝗕𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗯 𝗞𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘂, 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗘𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗦, explained how vermicomposting can strengthen sustainable livelihoods.
• 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗕𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘀, Training and Capacity Building Officer of LEDARS.

Participants learned about the 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 and 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, the production process, worm collection and preservation, compost processing, and effective application methods in agricultural fields.

Through initiatives like this, 𝗟𝗘𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 resilience by 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻-𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. By turning organic waste into “𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗱,” these women are paving the way for 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.
